Now, we want you to imagine you are in touch with a wise man, a philosopher, a multi-billionaire, and well-respected scholar. He has invited you to his private estate by private jet, escorted by his personal body guards, to deliver to you a message of the utmost importance.

This person is considered a genius level polymath. He has studied at Oxford and is considered one of the world’s foremost experts on a wide range of fields including mathematics, physics, ancient civilizations, quantum theory, metaphysics, philosophy, astronomy, finance, computer science, and probability theory. He has many other pursuits in business, philanthropy, sports, racing, exploration, technology, music, film and art.

This person, coming from relatively unlimited wealth, has a library that rivals those held by museums with original works from masters and sages throughout the ages.

A very select few have ever had the privilege of meeting this man, let alone be flown in by personal invitation. And fewer still have been granted access to the manor’s secret library. Consider yourself very lucky today indeed!

The butler welcomes you into the palatial home, and leads you into a great hall with a roaring fireplace that’s massive in length.

“He will be with you in a moment,” the butler says.

You look around at the massive paintings, and notice pictures of the wise man from his expeditions around the world: The Pyramids of Giza, Machu Picchu, Chichén-Itzá, the Coliseum.

You wonder, how could anyone possibly live like this? Who else has been here and how many important people have visited this place? You can hardly catch your breath, from the sheer size and scope of the interior.

The wise man enters the room and greets you. “Welcome!” as he shakes your hand.

He is in his 60s, with a trimmed gray beard yet fit and strong, and dressed impeccably. You feel uncomfortable at first, as you’re not used to a large house, such fancy surroundings, and first class treatment. But something about this man’s presence puts you at ease. You belong here, he suggests by the way you’re treated. The butler offers you a drink. You accept and take a sip while sitting across from the man in the great hall.

Before you can say anything, the man leans forward with anticipation. With a mysterious twinkle in his eye, he asks “Now, tell me. Why are you here?”

You’re at a loss for words. He invited you, right? Long awkward pause, the staff aren’t any help as they are busy attending to other duties. It’s still and quiet except for the crackling of the fireplace.

“I don’t know. I was… invited, right?”

A pause that feels like a million years, as the man stares into the fire, lost in thought while twisting a ruby encrusted ring with his family seal, twin eagles bearing the lion’s claw, upon his third finger on his left hand. Finally he turns back to you, and lets up with a smile.

“Why are you here is just my way of asking, why are WE here? Come with me.”

He takes you through the great hall into the secret library past lines of book shelves three stories high with multiple levels. Throughout the library there’s art, artifacts, sculptures, Greek armor from the 3rd century B.C., and cases of valuables and ancient inventions recovered from shipwrecks off the Gold Coast.

“For thousands of years, man has been searching for the answers to life’s great mysteries. The ancient Egyptians and Babylonians studied the stars for clues, and organized their religions around the mysteries of the universe in an attempt to uncover the deepest truths of existence. How did life begin? Where do we come from? Are we alone in the Universe? Can we predict the future? Is the world simply material, or is there also spirit? Who are we? And more importantly, who am I? What is the purpose of life?”

Surprisingly, you see where he’s going and chime in with “What is the true nature of reality? Are we in a simulation, like some cosmic computer game on a massive scale like The Matrix?”

He’s impressed. “Indeed. These are the great questions, and we are only at the beginning of our collective understanding. Despite our many technological advances, we remain largely perplexed at the core purpose of our existence. However, the great minds of the past have left us many symbols and clues, as to what is really going on.”

While you’ve thought about these things on occasion, you admit that you’ve been focused on your job, worried about your bank account, which never seems to have enough, and dozens of other problems in your life. Life is too busy to stop and ponder the universe.

As if reading your mind, the man gestures toward an 80-inch TV that shows the news, with the commenter discussing the ups and downs of the stock market. The coverage changes to the Fed chairman discussing interest rates and inflation.

“Our problem is there are too many distractions. We rarely find the energy and urgency to really, truly understand the world we’re in and who we are.”

The wise man snaps his fingers and the TV shuts off, and slides into the wall, disappearing from sight.

“Are we learning the right lessons before it’s too late? History tells us where we’ve been, and most importantly where we’re going. Will we repeat the same mistakes of the past which led to the ruin of our ancestors in bloody wars, and set back humanity back thousands of years?”

The man presses his index finger, with his ruby ring, repeatedly into your chest as he asks “Or we will learn to evolve toward peaceful and sustainable paths that lead to universal prosperity and a new golden age of understanding? The stakes could not be higher!”

You offer your analysis, “I don’t think politicians are concerned about solving our problems. They seem too concerned with their own pocket books.”

“Yes, sadly. And I fear the end is drawing near. So how are we to accomplish this? That is the great work and the reason why we are here today. In the wise words of King Solomon, who had more wealth and splendor than any man in all of history, most of life is vanity, especially the accumulation of wealth. Therefore, he suggested to remember the Creator and seek wisdom. Wisdom! Something truly lacking in our world today!”

You nod in agreement, and follow him as he walks deeper and deeper through the labyrinth of the library.

“I have a lot of wealth by many standards, and lived a long life but soon I will be gone from this world and pass into the unknown. I cannot take any material possession with me, only my faith and soul, which is the embodiment of who I am as a person.”

“You see, the doctors gave me only two months to live. I have terminal cancer, and nothing can stop it. Not medicine, not science, not money or anything under the sun. Yet I have hope, and I have faith in my Creator. I will be reunited with my wife who died five years ago. I would trade all of my wealth for just one moment more with her.”

He picks up a photo of her, remembering the touch of her skin and warmth of her spirit.

“She was the best part of me, and helped me realize what true wealth really is. And now I am going to give back, so that the next generation has a chance to see and experience all that life has to offer. Follow me.”
